I know these mountains are close, but last year the directions I was given put me on a closed for winter road....

What's the route people take from Mt Snow to Stratton, assuming go up 100, but then what? I don't trust Google Maps as many times they do not account for seasonal road closes.....Thanks!

I did the drive from Killington to Mount Snow last April for their closing day. I drove right past the main Stratton parking lot. It's the big city. The secondary roads are all paved. Going south, there are "To Route 100" signs everywhere. Going north, the only challenge is not missing the left turn off Route 100. I don't know if there is an obvious "To Stratton Mountain" sign.

The directions on Google Maps use all the correct secondary roads. Google Maps gives you precise mileage. If I didn't have a GPS in the car, I'd just print out the directions and use that and my trip odometer.

Here are the directions from the intersection of Route 100 and Mount Snow's North Access Road:

Driving directions to Stratton Mountain (parking at the Sun Bowl)
12.6 mi – about 31 mins
Route 100/VT-100

1. Head north on Route 100/VT-100 2.5 mi
2. Turn left at Penny Ave 1.1 mi
3. Turn right at Pike Hollow Rd 0.5 mi
4. Turn left at Stratton Arlington Rd 2.0 mi
5. Turn right at W Jamaica Rd 2.2 mi
6. Turn left at Mountain Rd 2.2 mi
7. Turn left to stay on Mountain Rd 1.8 mi
8. Sharp left at Sunbowl Rd 0.3 mi

You may have to continue on to the main base lodge if you're using that free text message ticket deal.

Uh, mere mortals might miss a few of those signs. They are small. Keep a sharp eye out, or you go on the grand tour, as I did.

I seem to remember coming out on 100 on Stratton Rd., and that there was no sign coming from the south.

I also tried staying on 100.... its a long way around that way.

As you head north....you go up over a small pass and then down a hill into West Wardsboro. The left turn off of Rt. 100 is just before a fairly sharp left turn that goes over a stream. I had a ski house for years in that area....It's a superb location for a vacation home and one day hope to own one in that vicinity. I believe there is a sign for the West Wardsboro Gen'l Store, which is located on the right after you make the left off of 100.

This is correct. The left is call Stratton-Arlington Rd. Once you get into the village of Stratton ( very small village, only a church anda few houses) you'll take a right toward the Stratton Ski area. Just follow the signs to the ski area. If you miss the right in Stratton Viilage you'll come to a stop in a few miles since the road is closed in winter.

If you want to cut it even shorter than that, Literally a couple hundred yards North of Stratton-Arlington Rd on Rte 100 is Newell Hill Road - saves you a couple miles/minutes and deposits you onto West Jamaica Road about 1/4mile before Mountain Road which takes you right to the Sun Bowl. Newell Hill Road is paved for roughly the 1st and last 1/2 miles and then a dirt road in the middle - if it's not a bad storm and/or mud season it's how I go and I can make it from my place at Mount Snow upto Stratton (main base area)in 20 minutes.

X2. My wife and I looked at a house on Stratton/Arlington road. Google Maps had us taking Penny Ave....ooops. Luckily, there was a enough space to turn the Jeep around.
