I wasn't sure it would soften so I scratched Cannon plans. I got on the slopes at 9:45AM. The main 4 trails off the HSQ skied pretty well. Ridge and Blastoff softened a lot so did under the chair. The one that looks straight onto the lake not so much. Got to 40 degrees at the summit at 3pm. I skied one run without a deep base on the south side around 12pm but it was ice. Mogul sections never softened. Average crowd size.

I bet you made the right call skipping Cannon. Sunday River yesterday and Wildcat today had similar mostly scratchy snow conditions. I can't imagine Cannon being any softer.

Hit Wildcat Friday, Cannon Saturday and Sunapee Sunday. None of them softened up but Cannon on Saturday I thought was excellent. Sunapee became quite icy Sunday afternoon. Friday and Saturday were just amazing days weather wise. I took over 200 pictures of Mt Washington, Mt Lafayette, and the Whites. Could see Stowe and Sugarbush clearly from the top of Cannon. The bases seemed to to be holding up quite well at Cannon and Wildcat and if we somehow get another storm they should be in excellent shape.
