Date(s) Skied: 4/5/09

Resort or Ski Area: Mt. Sunapee, NH

Conditions: Spring

Trip Report: Too bad they are closing. Plenty of snow now, but the forecast doesn't look too promising. The bumps on Liftline are better than they have been for quite a while. Lots of snow on Flying Goose with some nice bumps (as long as they stay soft). Serious coverage in the terrain park with three niiiiiiiiice kickers. No pictures of those though. Always sad to see the season wind down :-(.

I was there yesterday also. The bumps on Flying Goose were awesome. This rain sucks, they may have made it another weekend if there was no rain this week.

It was a fine day - I wasn't in the bumps, but the rest of the place was in good shape as well (the sun bowl and the westside/ledges area were stellar at times in the AM.) I've finally come around to accept the Sunapee lease as a good thing, considering how good of a early/late season product they can now offer. One can always go to Ragged or 10e midwinter to avoid the crowds.

I never skied there before the Meuller's took over, but heard itt was not very good. I agree with you, The lease is a good idea benefits Cannon too. They put their money in making the mountain better. They were wise in there decision on taking it over, since it so close to Boston. It does get boring though. I have found some places in the woods that are good, but Flying Goose is great bump run.

I'll tag my report to this thread.

Again, big thanks to Ice Queen who generously provided me with two vouchers so the whole Bumpsis family was in attendence.

We got there mostly for the afternoon skiing. Fun was had by all, in and out of bumps. I am deligthed that the ski area consistently maintains moguls on couple of slopes. The ones in the Sun Bowl are great training ego bumps and the ones on Flying Goose are just perfect pitch to burn up your quads on.

The front parking lot was quite busy but not too many people on the slopes. It was great just to open up the throttle and rip down the open slope.

The surface got progressivley mushy as the day went on and in quite a few places the surface was just softening ice. All very edgable, but definitely more degraded than just a few days back - I went there for a solo trip on Tuesday, 3/31.
The air temps were just about 40* F with considerable wind and the skies, mostly cloudy.
I got some pics - I may attach them later. Anyway, good way to close the season.

Is Sunapee open for April 18th / 19th ???

Unfortunately they closed on 4/4 (right when the lines were getting good again). The forecast may have scared them. Too bad because there's quite a bit of snow left up there.
