Pulled into Scoville right around 6 tonight. The lot was as busy as I've ever seen it, but on top of that everyone seemed to be getting ready to go at the same time. There were huge groups of 10-15 people hanging around waiting for the rest of their group to arrive, most people seemed to know each other, it was kinda cool. Eventually a huge group took off into Jug leaving a much smaller group to ride with Rueler. We waited for the last of the group to arrive and got started sometime after 6, 6:30 maybe?

The route we took was pretty interesting. We started off heading down to the boy scout bridge, went up east chippens to b-street to the trail that goes almost to Sessions and then crosses 69. Then we went up the other side of 69 to the 4-way, up fat kid, down to cornwall, then into dick ticklers, then down to 69 which we took back since it was getting way dark at that point.

Dick ticklers was interesting. It was way more rideable than the last time Greg and I tried it, but it still really kicked my ass. The trail is much more cleared and there's by-passes to the really tough stuff, but it's still all really techy and gnar, not to mention still really soft from not being ridden much.

All in all a great ride, I hope I didn't hold up Scott and Scott in dick ticklers too much, but I was really struggling in parts, including on semi-OTB where I banged my leg up pretty good.

Nice to ride with Scott and a segment of his crew again, thanks again for the post ride brew Scott!

I didn't have the GPS going, but I guess the mileage was around 8 according to Scott's computer.

The parking lot was packed and it's nice that I can actually start seeing faces that I have ridden with before.. good stuffage!

We ran a bit later then 6 waiting on another rider, but that also secured us a smaller group of riders.. given the large pack took off a few minutes before us.

Ride was good, through the FKC. Again I was pretty stoked about getting both of the top ledges past the gravel road. On the first two short rocky ups I had a little trouble but the top of the last down hill and the one prior to that, I had pretty securely. Those are good, a bit gnarly and I like the fact they roll right into down hills.. so there isn't any reason to stop really right? so.. why did I used to stop? oh yea, cause I had to walk my bike... lol.. anyhow... moving on..

The newer trail we went on tonight was nice. Nice as in I think it has great potential if it packs down a bit.. and perhaps dries up as well. The trail and terrain are very nice, unfortunately I found it a bit slippery/greasy to really get rolling in some areas. Good stuff.. very glad to have gotten the right side of the camel's toe ! that was indeed kewl and made the ruggedness of that trail well worth it from my point of view.

** Don't let my description fool you, the trail is a good one, probably just needs to be ridden a bit more to work it in.

We wrapped up and hit the road on the way back..

Good run, glad to get out with all you guys/gals.

Later!

Time for elbow pads now.. geesh.. gonna look like friggin Darth Vader in another week or two here.. lol

Glad to ride with you and Trev again!! Hope you didn't mind me dragging you into "Tickler's"! It's a trail where a plan for everything that lurks around each corner is necessary. So, repeated visits, so you know the trail is helpful. If the rocks were a bit drier all of the rollers would have been easier to make. As it stood, there was only one that 2 I didn't attempt...the first one and the big one! Didn't have the courage for the drops either. You guys missed a good crash...Scottie C. decided to try to roll the wet 60 ft. rock roller instead of taking the switchback bypass. He crushed the tree in the middle in the process. I heard the noise from above and wondered what the hell was going on...it wasn't too bad since he got right up and kept going. There are a couple more turns in there that I will be modifying a bit to make the entries into the climbs a bit easier. Good ride tonight! Yeah, I got something over 8...a mile and a quarter was on the road though!

Thanks for all your hard work in there, it's very evident compared to when I went in there last year.

Shhhh, no one has to know. ;) That's still mileage on the bike IMHO...
