You know I'm going to show this to Camelback management. Cliffhanger would be great with seeded bumps and is probably much better lit. Maybe they'll start listening to me this year. (Charlie, Bill:smash:) Not ready to abandon them yet but that day could come. Asp is still killer in the day light.

Do show them, Alex! Cback seems to be on the cusp; they have show the inkling to seed moguls and commit to providing a mogul product, but the execution seems poor. I hope they come through, I love everything else about Cback (access, lifts, people, pricing, snowmaking, etc...)

Jay:

I know alot of them and have met the owner who is a really nice and open fellow. You bet I will show them this and will use it as a hammer:smash: (if you don't mind) I've been after them for a couple of years now to the point where they probably cringe when they see me coming. You are correct they are on the cusp and last year was better then the previous year but not good enough for me. I think your decision at this point about going to Blue is wise. I too was very impressed with what they started to do at Blue last year. It's time for CBK to step up to the plate and start playing in the big leagues. They have the equipment and terrain to do it.

There are alot of reasons I will stay with Camelback for now. Outside of my pet peeve with the mogul situation they do alot of things right and have alot of good people there. I will keep you informed on whats going on there this year and when I finally get them to seed Cliffhanger (I'm not giving up till they do) let you know so you can come over and give it a try.

Alex, I concur with everything you say. By all means, show them. If they were to consistently seed a trail like Cliffhanger (and the lighting was good), that is the kind of thing that would behoove me to buy a season pass and hit it up on at least a weekly basis.

Me thinks they groom a heck of a lot better then Blue. Headwall aside, which is hard to maintain with the crowds they get, I was super impressed with their grooming.

They both have plusses and minuses. I'm glad I'm able to ski them both every year and look forward to meeting up with you Blue boys at either mountain someday. Along with Elk the Pocono's IMO have 3 decent places to get in runs and prevent me from having to road trip it far too often. (I still like to go up north and out west when I can)

Tarp, Root, and Jay: Just a reminder of the NJ Ski Council Kick off party at the Hanover Marriott tomorrow night from 7-12. Free admission, ski resorts and ski clubs some of which have freebies and deals. Drinks and maybe a safety meeting if you guys can make it.

This is looking pretty good for me as I don't have to go to philly tomorrow. I'll have a really orange jacket on.

Alex/guys

I had surgery on my deviated septum last Thursday and have a Doctor's appt. at lunch today, during which I am hoping the Doc will lift my basic "house arrest" orders. If he does so, there is a very good chance I will swing by. I'll update on clothing color if I do, but at the least you can try to spot me as the 30 year old guy who is 6 days into the annual growth of his ski beard. Def. interested in any freebies or deals they've got going; can't do drinks or a safety meeting for another few days, however (gonna double check with the Doc today).

Well I went to the event but was late due to a bad Friday night on Route 80. Looked for Root and Jay but didn't see anyone familiar (going by photos) but then again it was crowded. Did see NJskibabe. Didn't win any freebies this year but had a fun night. Will try to catch up with you guys on the slopes.

Yeah, late night at work led to the lady putting her foot down and demanding dinner. My cries of "It's on Rte. 10, we'll go right by Taco Bell!" fell on deaf ears.

I would be interested to hear from the Blue crew when the moguls go up on Main Street. Will they go up before or during the holidays? Camelback tends to do nothing with bumps till after the holidays and I don't know if I can wait that long. Pricing out my season, the holidays will be spent locally. Wish Blue offered a 3 ticket pack. Discounts look tough to come by at Blue and Elk.

I'd also love to see a 3 pack from Blue. If you have some friends in PA. You could have them pick up discount ski ticket at their local township building for you. I haven't seen the rated this year, but historically they are usually $10 to $14 off the daily rate.
