Thanks for all of the kind words...:wink:

I thought you said you were getting a dog? not a rat that barks
Please don't confuse her with a Chihuahua...:roll::wink:

Mini dachsunds are typically around 10 pounds. Standards are in the 25 pound range.
Her parents are just under 15 pounds, so she'll most likely be more of a "tweenie".

Still qualifies as "Lunch" sized for a real dog.
Would like to see a "real dog" try to catch her...it's amazing how fast those little legs can go...

Strange coloration for a dachshund...
She's a "black and tan piebald"...she has too much white for the breed standard but she's not a show dog so we don't care.

Hahaha, that hamster ball brings back memories. My sister had one once, and she let the thing roll itself down a flight of stairs. Amazingly durable little creatures. Might have suffered some brain damage, but the thing was so freakin stupid to begin with it was hard to tell.

What amazed me was that when we took the video the gerbil wasn't phased in the least...they're too curious and/or dumb for their own good.

Cute little dog...I think Mona's already bigger than he is!

It's been like having a toddler all over again, except this one has 4 legs, can get around a lot quicker, and we can't put a diaper on her. :roll: I'm glad that we waited for the kids to be older before we got a dog, though...it's easier to take care of the puppy when we can get the kids to help.
