All,

Will be traveling in early March and skiing at Loon, Waterville Valley, Cannon, Bretton Woods and Wildcat.

Does anyone have Dining recommendations in nearby towns? I tend to enjoy brewpub type spots with good micro-brew selections although we are a family of 5.

Also, would anyone recommend Attitash or another nearby ski area in place of the five that I have chosen?

Thanks

There are tons of places near/in North Conway to eat. Is it just you or are your with family, friends? I would send you to different places depending on the make-up of your group.

Same goes for the skiing. I would suggest Attitash over BW, unless you were in a group of beginners. IMHO, everyone needs to visit Wildcat at least once, but it is the kind of place that, if you're with beginners, could turn people off. It can be harsh, but it is a unique place, that's for sure.

Can't be any clearer here. Don't drink and drive in Lincoln or Woodstock. They have a shutttle that runs around, or grab a cab. If your on the road after 8pm your going to be in trouble. The weekenders just don't drive at night here. Simple.

Anyway. There will be a wait at the Woodstock Station if Winter ever starts. Just be patient. Good brews. Really the only brew pub I can think of. Legends 21 at Waterville in the village area has some of the local Woodstock station brews. If you have a Condo in the village its all walkinng distance. On Rt 49 in Campton the Mad river Tavern has some nice Micro brews, nice pub vibe. You can eat in the bar or the Restraunt area. I had a nice meal New years here. They do take reservations.

I always go to the sunset Grill. Just easy. Corner of 49 and 3 in Campton. Alot of locals with ski crowds mixed in not a brew Pub though.

Best higher end rest IMO is the William Tell on 49 in thorton (the road to Waterville) between Campton and Waterville. New chef I have not been there since the change. Always liked it though. The Chef went to Diamonds edge in Waterville Valley in town square I think.

You can't beat the red Parka Pub on Route 302 in Bartlett. Still crazy after all these years. Good steak. Great atmosphere (especially the pub) and good people.

If skiing Attitash or Wildcat, check out the Moat Mountain Brewery in North Conway.

Agreed with these two in the N.Conway/Bartlett/Glen area. Moat Mountain, along with being a brewery, is a durn good smokehouse as well.

As far as Lincoln/Woodstock, I like Truant's Tavern in N. Woodstock.

Had some of the best ribs ever at Moat Mountain....gettin hungry just thinking about it... I'm not sure if I have the right name but there is a breakfast place, folksy family place with a train theme, been there twice, incredible breakfasts, is this sound like Guidles? I am partial to the older established family joints for breakfast.

Italian Oasis in Littleton. A MUST! As someone that really enjoys a tasty beverage, especially micro brews, and goes out of his way to try new brews when ever possible, i can say that the cannon ale at Italian Oasis is amongst the best beers i have ever had. they have a lighter beer for the light weights called Moore Damn Ale (named after the local dam, that one is really fun to order, and even more fun to reorder!) that my lady really loves. I believe they also have a Stout and seasonals, don't quote me on the Stout though. As for the food, we drive the 20 or so miles from St Johnsbury all the time despite several excellent local offerings including the Tamrack, Elements, and Goodfellas not just because of the beer, but also for excellent dishes. As the name might imply, they specialize in Italian offerings and also serve tasty pizzas, but also have seafood and meat as well). One other good factor to consider here is unlike brew pubs a little closer to ski areas, I have never waited for a table. If you are staying in Lincoln or North Woodstock, this may seem like a drive at about 20-25 minutes, about the same from Bretton, IIRC. Might still be worth it for the Cannon Ale though ;) This place is a no brainer if you stay in Littleton, Bethlehem, Twin Mountain or Franconia.

In Waterville Valley, would recommend the Coyote Grill as a great family place with really exceptional food. I'll echo the Sunset Grill in Campton and the Woodstock Inn in Woodstock.

When your at Brettonwoods, do yourself a favor and head across the street for dinner at the Mt Washington Hotel. Pricey, but an amazing dining experience and service to match!
