Anybody read Peter King's column in this weeks Sports Illustrated yet?? He basically rakes Mangini over the coals for violting the time honored tradtion of "not biting the hand that fed you".

If how King described it of the back channel coaching protege network that exists, Mangini will have maybe a half dozen coaches in the league who might actually work with him in future trades/moves.

Yeah, I used that pointer on another post.

After reading that article where; a coach mentions that the 50 yard cam can be use to tape the signals, other teams using extra cam and in general walking the line on rules to get a competitive edge. .... Goodell is going to rule with an iron fist. IMO the stiff penalty was more about Belichick ignoring the two previous warnings and sending a message to the rest of the league.

And BTW, we all have unwritten rules in the work place; 2 weeks notices, how many former employee we can recruit, what type of ideas are really yours versus the companies and so on. It wouldn't surpise me if the Jets get blacklisted or more coaches are calling them out on any type of infraction.

Jealous haters......

The short story is Parcells would be the GM while Belichick would be the coach. Belichick didn't want to be in that situation, he didn't want to work for a boss where the relationship turn bad over the course of several years which started when both were at NE. As I said, it was analogous to a divorce.

facts don't sound at all correct there. Belicheck worked for Parcells with the Giants, which was before NE first of all. Not gonna even think about the rest of it since you're wrong right off the bat.

I followed Parcells when he was the LB coach for the pats under Chuck Fairbanks. And yes, Belichick was a position coach and then finally a dc for Parcell when they coach the giant.

My above remark was under the context of when they rejoin at NE, Belichick got fire from Cleveland and Parcells was the hc at NE. He thought so highly of Beliichick that he found some defensive coaching position for him when Al Groh was the dc back then and most of the defensive coaching postions was filled.

Dude, at least know the history before you make these remarks.

All the drama about the taping incident is ridiculous. I hear talk show callers saying they should forfeit the jets game, superbowl titles, comparing it to steroid use by players etc etc.

I cant stand the patriots but i know why i hate them. It isnt cause they got caught doing something that may give them some sort of an edge somewhere, its cause they always beat the steelers. Probably the same reason everyone else is calling for bloody murder here. Cause the partiots always win, they always beat "your" team.

Yup. Don't really care about the video scandal other than the bemusement factor.
Brian Westbrook was asked about it, and whether it taints the SB victory over the Eagles. He responded that even if you have the answers to a test, you still have to TAKE the test. IOW, really doesn't matter that much, not going to give that significant of an edge, and the truly better team would've overcome that deficit.

As a Jets fan, I honestly think the outcome of the game wouldn't have changed at all without the video taping.

The Pats are undoubtedly a much superior team to the Jets at this point in time.

I wish the Jets could get there.

Correct quote, wrong Eagles player quoted, it was McNabb, not Westbrook with that one. Either way it sums it up very well

Just to put it into perspective for non Pats fans about how obsessive Belicheck and crew are about preparation and improvement. You might think that quite a few coaches would be happy with 2 victories as convinving as the Pats had. But, in my local paper today they had a summation of some of the Pats regular midweek press conference yesterday. They're not satisfied, and it had nothing to do with any video cameras. Basically they're 0-4 with stopping teams from getting into the end zone once they're in the Redzone this season. The defense isn't happy, comments from Bruschi/Seau etc, show it. That's how they look at things in New England

Oops, you're right. Westy did say something to the effect that they were just outplayed, end of story. In light of other recent events, I'm trying not to quote Donny if I can help it...

I can respect that...Well said. I cant stand the Colts for the same reasons. I'm still not over the AFC championship loss last year. Anyway, I love the doctored logos and the cheater accusations because it will only keep the Patriots playing with that chip on their shoulder...and that translates into wins so keep it up!! :spin:

This what Jets fans wish they had going for them.

No doubt Belicheck is a great coach. We're hoping for some of that with Mangini.

Basically, we're jealous that you guys got like this juggernaut coach who nabbed you 3 bowls so far. Dagnabit.

You're spot on. What surprises me is the media hype this is getting by the football writers and tv network folk. Given they are in tune with the players and coaches which by the way are not making a big deal about it, the talking heads are milking out this story or putting more legs on this. Its seem they have a grudge to bear on Belichick... the more they do this the bigger that chip on the shoulder which is good if you're a pats fan.
