http://www.belleayre.com/ has got to be the most terrible, old, miseraly designed, rarely updated, crappy, annoying ski website I have ever been to.

I was just there to check if they started making snow and I got some server Apache prompt, then a HTTP directory structure next. So its not working at all it seems, but even when the webpage is up, it is horrible. Impossible to navigate and find what you are look for; Terrible trail map; and most annoying, BS snowmaking predictions and are clearly posted to get people fired up and make them look like they are on top of their snowmaking game. They have been claiming they will open "next weekend" since November 5.

Can't they spare $3000 to design a halfway decent website? Andy pay someone $20 a week to update it regularly? Argh...

I mean, look at their "trail map":

http://www.belleayre.com/maps/mainmap.htm#

How is this even legal in this day and age? The "trail map" alone should be enough to send the webmaster to jail for a few years. Wouldn't it be better if they just put up a big jpg or something? Instead they give you these little chunks of it that you have to piece together in your head... idiots!!!

Sorry for ranting, I have no patience for people doing a bad job, especially when the job is ski related.

I agree. If there is a worse trail map, I am not aware of it.

They all can't be as good as the map I made for Hunter...
It lasted one season one their website before they took it down... :(

Dude, that map is light years ahead of the one on Belleayre.com

Its actually pretty good. It may not look pretty but it is pretty functional, gets the job done. Not like what Hunter.com is sporting right now is any better or more advanced than yours - its still an old school jpg.

I do have one question regarding your trail map... who is Anna Purna and why do you have her on the trailmap? She sounds hot! :)

I saw better websites in my first web development class six or seven years ago...

And yes, that is a horrible trail map. Unfortunately most area websites are still trying to get the trailmaps right.

Belleayre's trail map is terrible. Just load a PDF up there. I can't complain however because the segmenting keeps the crowds away and I love belleayre as my day trip mountain so I'm not going to bash 'em.

CT is home of some of the finest trail maps around. Sundown and Mohawk aren't bad:

But those other two...

I have Mohawk and Sundown posted in my office. Woodbury's a POS. The trails aren't even labeled.

Edit: Actually, the trails are labeled but the list of trails doesn't have the coinciding labels.
