I will be in the vicinity of Loon/WV/BrettonW. on Friday. After a good day of skiing, I will be driving to Stowe, Friday night. Mapquest is recommending 93N to VT 2 to VT 15 to VT 100. Is that the best route? If we get a good dump of snow (geez, I'm praying), is it still a good route for me and my trusty Front wheel drive sedan?

p.s., if you want to meet for skiing, I'll be somewhere in the Ski93 vicinity, likely Loon to do a whole bunch of Nastar runs on Friday. Saturday I'll be all day at Stowe/Mansfield with another ski bud. Happy to have company. Drop me a PM if interested.

That's the way I would go (except take 93 to 91N to Route 2 west). And yes, you'll be fine with front wheel drive.
Just before you get to Morrisville (VT) on Route 15, you'll see a route called 100C (or B or something like that) which will take you into Morrisville to Route 100. It cuts a corner (maybe 5 minute time saving).
Have fun!

Stowe has been quitely recovering fom the rains too. On piste skiing should be pretty good this weekend, and some bc might be doable. Not epic, but you should be able to poke around and check stuff out. Check out the woods right of National. Look for an entrance on the right where lift line and national cross. Also the woods left of goat. If you come into goat from the lift line cat walk (thru the hay chute) go down 10 turn and pop in the the left. The Gov's Hwy. Look for an older dude puffin' nug on the gondi, and thank him for the work. Have fun!

oh yea, don't tell anyone I told you this...there is pretty fierce local pressure to be a dick to tourists, but IMO, noone really owns anything up there!

Thanks. Kinda funny though. My bud and I both grew up in small mountain villages, moved "away" to earn a buck. Now we come back as "flatlanders".... Least we don't act like 'em.... My bud's dad calls everyone down south "foreigners". I just smile. thanks a lot...

yup, that's the way to go. i think the cutoff that nelsapbm refers to off 15 is a bridge that goes over a small stream if my memory serves me correctly. last time i went that way, i was dopped up on perks though!
