Well it's right near Boston..I imagine Wachusett is to Boston as Blue mountain is to Philadelphia..today at Blue there were probably 7,000 people+..Blue will keep selling tickets even if there is an hour long liftline..

Great news for Wachusett considering they had been way down last weekend and the early part of this week.

Holy crap! I didn't know a ski area could sell out!

Whitetail which is in South Central PA within daytrip range to the DC/Baltimore metro area used to sell lift tickets for busy periods through Ticketmaster...I'm glad aside from a few resorts and a few busy days, this sort of thing is not the norm.

We were there from 4-7 last night and the polar express quad was virtually ski-on. We parked in row 3, maybe? The minuteman chair was, predictably, a free for all and the singles line was a must...but I never go over there so whatever.

I was kind of surprised it was so uncrowded last night. Fischer had sent me a replacement pair of RX8 Fires to replace my 2005 RX8s that developed some top sheet delam issues and yesterday was my 1st time out on them (other skis are Watea 78s)...so it was a fun night..

Wa can only sell so many tickets per session based on their lease with the state...

I went one night last year when they had sold out the day session and it wasn't that crowded... It seems most don't like to ski at night.

Might head up tonight, might stay home and play Rock Band with a friend... not sure yet.

The place can be insane on a weekend/holiday day and it's good they sell out rather than just keep piling people in. Lease rules or not. I generally won't bother if I get there and the upper lot is full.

I'll be there Sunday night. Should be nice with the weather warmed up a little.

Just got back from Pats Peak today...don't know if they have a ticket limit but the lines were getting long and the lodges were a zoo. On top of that, one of the lifts wasn't running.

Must be some pent-up holiday demand all around...

That's pretty much my rule of thumb. I live close enough I don't mind turning around and heading home if it's busy.

I've never done that before...the other day when it was horrible conditions and crowded...I only skied 6 runs...

I ski there mostly midweek and know when it'll usually be crowded so that doesn't happen very often. To me it's just not worth it.
