Date: Sunday 11/24
Location: Okemo, Ludlow VT
Conditions: Hardpack, PP, Ice
Met my buddy Catsup948 in the lodge about 9:15....grabbed our NH/VT Sunday Solution tickets for $35 and up we went.
Did about 6 runs off the Northstar hitting everything that was open at least once. Sapphire was a good run until it got wind blown and scraped down. World Cup had some good loose stuff on the sides that was more pleasant than the icy hardpack in the middle.
Timberline was good and Lower Arrow was fun to let the skis run a bit.
Headed down Defiance to the Glades Peak chair...even though that quad is slow it didn't seem much slower than the Northstar which they were clearly running slower than normal due to the winds. Northing worth doing up there we just wanted some variety so we came down Buckhorn and then warmed up for a bit in the summit lodge.
Back down WC and the Northstar was on wind hold...didn;t appear it would be opening anytime soon so they opened the Sachem quad....took that up to Glades peak and then back down Sapphire to Lwr Arrow and called it a day about 12:15.
Ski on all morning---very cold and windy felt like Mid January. Conditions were respectable for early season. They likely will get non-snow precip on Wed but hopefully get the guns going soon after. We'll be back up on Friday night for turns over the wknd.
Grabbed a burger and beer at Tom's Loft tavern on the way out....1st time there and burger taste/beer selection was very good and didn't have to pay mountain bar prices.
