Ski Area: Okemo Mountain, CT

Conditions: Machine made PP on Well covered and groomed slopes and trails

Trip Report:

Another great day out on the ski trails! Headed out of CT around 6 this morning and rolled into the parking lot at Okemo shortly after 9am. After a brief drill in futility and some walking I was able to procure my $32.00 ticket (CT Ski council day), booted up and hit the mountain. Plenty of terrain open and great machine made packed powder conditions. Everything was groomed and the coverage and surfaces where excellent and stayed that way throughout the day. Tons of snowmaking was in progress on several areas of the mountain including the South Face and Glades area.

Started skiing around 9:45 and quit at 3pm with an hour break for a cold beer and some lunch. Ended the day with around 26,000 feet of vertical and some great turns during the afternoon with just Mom, Dad and my Bro! First time this has happened without inlaws, kids, etc in like 10 years.

Here's some pictures..........

Nice pix Wood Core. We were up there today and despite the rain last weekend Okemo recovered quite nicely. Conditions were better than I expected and you can't beat those CSC Days! Just a note, anyone looking to purchase a CSC discount ticket needs to get them at the Group Services Trailer next to the Loft. I don't know why you can't purchase CSC tix at any open ticket window, but it's a small hoop to jump through to save over $40. We actually parked in that lot, so it was a short walk. Supposedly they were going to add 10 more trails for the weekend. Nice not to have to fight the crowds there for a change.
