LUDLOW, Vermont -- As anyone attending this weekend's Boston Ski Show can attest, the anticipation of the start of the 2006-2007 ski season is absolutely palpable. Here's some good news for Okemo Mountain Resort skiers and riders.

"Cold weather returned last night (Saturday) and the snowmaking guns were turned on," says Okemo Mountain Resort Vice President and General Manager Bruce Schmidt. "Snow was made on Buckhorn and around the summit area. We anticipate making snow again tonight (Sunday) as temperatures permit. The forecast for the next couple of days shows temperatures for snowmaking – at least during the evening hours."

Okemo is poised to open for the season at the earliest possible opportunity and expects to be open with intermediate and advanced terrain in time for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
