Did old school ski racers like Billy kid lift weights? Just wondering cause the old racers look like xc runners while the more recent guys like Bode and the Hermanator are pretty built.

It's kind of like comparing a modern NFL lineman to one twenty years ago. They are 4 inches taller, 75 pounds bigger, twice as strong and yet twice as fast. Sports medicine my friend

I raced for a season in the early 90's in high school and not a lot of emphasis was placed on weight training. Mainly dry land agility, endurance and agility stuff in the fall.

when i was in to racing, it was a pretty cool scene. everyone knew eachother and it was very early in snowboarding. everyone was on the same equipment. we still had competitve downhill. now its just dual slalom and some GS. andy coghlan and his brother where the shit. they where the guys that got me into racing. after they faded away i lost interest.
