Earlier this week I posted how Snowbird's co-founder Ted Johnson died on Monday at the age of 91. Today, the other end of the week, Snowbird's current owner, Ian Cumming, died at the age of 77 while at his home in Jackson Hole, WY.

He founded Leucadia National and later funded his son's start-up outdoor gear company, a little gig called Mountain Hardwear. John later sold that to Columbia Sportswear.
Ian later funded POWDR and initially ran it until handing it over to his son, John.
He bought the majority share of Snowbird in 2014 and has been investing a lot of time and money into the resort. To be clear, POWDR is a separate entity from Snowbird. As to what happens now, anyone's guess.
