Peak Resorts has gotten approval from NY State to build a downhill race course starting at the Hunter Mtn Fire Tower for a vertical descent of 3,020 Feet. Without saying their source, a Governor has indicated they can start building the Downhill course from the Hunter Fire Tower on state land tomorrow as long as they can figure out away to make the base lodge of Hunter Mountain 500 vertical feet lower than its current location. Peak Resorts Architects are working on the problem as we speak. The fire tower is located at 4040 ft. To meet FIS regulations they need to get down below 1400 ft. So if they could somehow get down to the bottom of the ravine below 23a below katerskill falls, its totally doable.....:blink::lol:

All Hunter needs is a 7-mile tram to the top of Blackhead Mountain (3,940 ft.). Easily 3,000 vertical feet from there to the Hudson valley.
