Hey doug and suggestions on a place to ski between Buffalo and Albany?. Hunter must be in the area somewhere. Sounds like you have a good show coming up. Hope your gig goes well also.
Thinking of maybe some afternoon runs on Sunday.

Had to save a little to do this run. I also used all my free passes with my wife. After 20 years of shows she kind of is use to it.

SkiDog I'll give Phil a mention. I'm front row in Wallingford Tues I'll call him over.

12-1 Phil and Friends came on just before 8 short 1st set long 2nd played to 11.30 I sat 7th row center sound was muffled at the beginning cleared up mid way 1st set.

Set list
Jam, Uncle Johns, the Dolphins, Senor,Long black Viel, next time you see me,"hard to handle." (The best music in years for me)
Closed with Cosmic charlie 50 min 1st set.

2nd set did not look at watch 9.45ish I guess.
Truckin - Jam Cats under the stars, New Speedway
(highlight big time) D-star verse 1, comes a time, Unbroken chain (for skidog) St Stephen. Gimme shelter. Order could be off a bit at the end.

Donor rap
Brokendown palace encore. Deadicated to Fritz a Philzone poster who passed away this week.
Barry Sless was awesome. The chime sound in unbroken chain was fantastic. Larry had some nice work. Molo was solid. Very little from the keys. Phil was running the orchestra very well. Chris was hard to hear early on. Nothing that ready did anything for me from him.

off to Buffalo later today skipping Virginia, got to work a bit.

Phil looked fine and very happy. Cats under the stars...he really sounded good on. The Uncle John's band was also I nice tribute to fritz. His fist name was John.

Phil and Friends remains my favorite band. Mind doing good, body a little shaky today.

Stayed at Comfort in suites could walk to the venue. Venue was a small theater 1st 13 rows were not under over hang rest must have had a bit of a muffled sound underneath. Decent size balcony.

Set 1 Dire Wolf, BiG RR Blues,Mr Charlie, Eagle on the Highway>Jam The wicked Messenger>Jam(God rest Ye Merry Gentleman tease) Candy Man... Sound started to clear up.. Casey Jones. Nothing special from Scofied yet. He sounded very quiet in the mix. Looked like he was wailing, but could not hear him well.

Set 2
Shakedown,Althea (higlight always for me). New Speedway(Good Boston sounded a bit Better)Fire on the Mountain. Scofield really went on. >Jam Cowboy Movie, Lovelight, Franklins. (The Help and Slip were played in VA the night before)
Donor Wrap Encore Bertha. Solid show Second set had a great song selcetion. Franklins was the highpoint for me. Dec 4th to follow

Dec 4th Albany, Washington St Armory. in the Washington park area. The place is where a minor league Basket ball team plays.( Albany Patroons I think.) Nice new seats on the sides, helps when your short. Ga show.
I needed help form the Philzone www.philzone.com to put some of the set list in. Not familiar with all that way played.

Set 1 Just another whistle Stop>jam> Loose Lucy>
Friend of the Devil, Big River, The Stranger(Two souls in communion)Jam>Birdsong>Cold Rain and Snow.(Highlight) There was some light snow and it was Brisk out.

2nd set. Scofield really stepped up and just went crazy.
US blues, Sitting on top of the world, Jam> Wheel>eyes(Scofield sounded the best on this. Best Jam of the tour for me.) I know you rider>You got to hide your love away>Watchtower, (Very high energy) Midnight hour. Donor rap Encore Not fade away.

Off to Wallingford mid day today.

Man, you must be getting a little crispy by now.

The Albany show must have been great. And they played at the Armory??!! Guess the Palace must have been booked. BTW - who sings all the Pigpen songs these days? Hard to imagine anyone else singing Two Souls in Communion....

Chris Robinson is singing most stuff. He has the blues feel.
Ya I'm kind of a mess. After Thursday in bost I got 3 1/2 hours sleep before work on Fiday. Drove to Albany Friday night met some buddies and headed to Buffalo Sat am.
Got up at 6am drove back to Albany Sunday. My buddy wanted to ski.
I napped and watched the giants.lol
Got up Monday at 6am drove to Bost for work.

Leaving today at 2pm grabbed a hotel in hartford to spilt the ride back to Bost for work tomorrow. I have only slept in my bed once since thurs. Tomorrow I'll be home for a while.

Jorma was in town not sure if he was at the egg or the palace. The venue was ok though.

Beautiful place inside.

Outside a bit of Shakedwon allowed. Inside it was warm. I had Dead Center Front row, I set my elbows on the center mark on the Stage.

Alot of stuff I was not familliar with. Best show out ot the 4. Larry was getting most of the leads. I would have liked a bit more of Barry.

Set 1 Who knows what tomorrow may bring, Brown eyed women. Great Jam into it. Loser, Big Boss Man, Sunday sound,Pride of Cucamunga. (Great Jam in the Middle) China Cat Sun Flower. Very nice Set up. Sounded like a Rider was coming, but we heard it in Buffalo I think.

Set 2 Cats under the Stars jam golden Road to Unlimited devotion (tour highlight) Viola Lee v 1 & 2 Going down the road fellin Bad, Viola v 3 jam He's gone, Dark Star Verse 1, (Sampson Jam) dark Star V 2, Comes a Time, Uncle John's Band, Donor rap into's Do right Women.

A few of the Chris's tunes were a mystery to me.
Band came on at 8.45ish. a little over 1/2 hour break played til midnight.

Obsevation Barry Sless is the man.
