PLATTEKILL 1/11, 14" powder dump, PICTURES!

Late night last night, didnt get much sleep, got a text messages from plattekill at like 6 AM telling me all this new snow, mountain 100% open, hit snooze until like 8 couldnt miss 14" of powder though. only taught one lesson so rest of the day was riding after i got up there at 10:30, fresh tracks everywhere, laps on the double, woods were in pretty decent shape, another snow storm like this they will be amazing... woods on the triple were a little hairy near the cabin though couldnt find a line, hit up the double again, i love that side of the mountain, cliffs was fun. the maxxis jump of the triple had a powdery landing for most of the day that was illlly haha. cell phone pics don't really do justice there was easy a foot of powder everywhere. first real workout of the season with this powder my legs were burning by the end of the day.

they had the snow guns going on the straight shot trail umm north face? so it got iced up, top of blockbuster was pretty hairy with a lot of tall sticks that just seemed to never get cut? but 100% open for plattekill this time of year is excellent, light powdery snow, did get one gash to the base on my board but i'll put some p-tex on it, its worth a day like today:

^could have been any trail on the mountain, it all looked that excellent^

sorry for lack of punctuation... peace

forgot to say there was some crispy icey bullshit under the powder, but you could only really tell on the straight shot trails that had more tracks, no biggie, snow on tuesday i hear?

Was considering going, but left my house at 6am and they didn't have a report yet. Also, I was concerned that they didn't have enough base. But hey, such is life. :)

yeah, the base was pretty scratchy underneath, but only on the straight wide trails, especially north face and the face where they blew snow, but the side trails were perrrrrrfect. if you sign up for their text alerts you should get messages real early, i get them at like 6 and its just a snow info report, pretty cool
