This post on Epic simply amazes me. Listen, buddy - when you're still skiing in April, you'll be happy they made snow at every opportunity. Unbelievable...

Holy S. I love how everyone over there jumped on him right away. I loved this tid bit, "and they owe us something." The only thing they owe their customers is a nice, deep base so that they can extend every ones season. And if you think about it, they won't be blowing every night for the rest of the season. Who cares if you get some guns going a few nights you are there. Sometimes you get blasted by the guns on the weekends too.

Personally....I love skiing in the guns, always fresh, and usually keeps all the gapers away.

My thoughts exactly, I think his tongue may be firmly planted in his cheek on this one.

Oh, and Old Maine guy, I actually laughed-out loud at your post. Well-played!

This season has been very warm in general. jimminy is a low elevation resort (I think) kind of like wachusett. When those warm temps and rain role around and you are still skiing thank the snowmaking. I think if you are that small of an area takes the cold temps while you can.

I was up at Jiminy last night and they were blowin like crazy! My favorite run of the night was Exibition east. On the side under the guns the had huge piles that I was having a blast carving through. Decided to lanch offf a few and tumbled down. On the hike up, I was sinking up to my knees and above. Now what true skier is gonna complain about that?

This Sunday I was skiing through the gun blasts at Wawa. I loved it. My son loved it. I would never complain about them making snow during the day/weekend/whatever.

BUT,does this guy really deserve this much nasty comments? I was also skiing on and off with a couple of moms of my son's friends. They are good skiers and enjoys skiing. But after going through the gun once on a trail with relatively mild snow making, they moved off to the trails without snow making.

For them, it is just too uncomfortable to go through that crap, and I would imagine they would be pretty disappointed if the majority of the trails were such that they don't have much places to go.

Yeah, that guys language was a little colorful and tad selfish, but I can't blaim people for wanting to ski in relatively comfortable condition and feel a little bit of entitlement for the big money they are paying. There are lots of people who enjoy skiing but not as hardcore as many of us to enjoy and make the best out of whatever we have available.

I thought that too after I posted this. It has to be a toll, it just has to be. At least one can hope.

I was at Jiminy last night and they where blowing like crazy again.

This is my favorite part of that guys post:

If they can’t make enough snow and get it groomed before the lifts open at 9:00AM then maybe they should discontinue night skiing and use that time for trail maintenance. It would give them an extra six hours to make snow and get it groomed.

It's not like Jiminy Peak is a business or anything, so they should cut out a chunk of their revenue to keep this guy happy.
