I know I haven't been around on here for a little bit.... yeah I'm a slacker....
However I need your help. If anyone has ever skied at Jack Frost mtn. in Pa. in the past you may remember the steepest slope on east mtn being the Elevator. They took it off the trail map a few years ago and it's starting to really get overgrown with stickerbushes.

I started a petition over on PASR on the above link trying to get this gem back for us stuck down here in the poconos. If you have a second either reply to this or head over to PASR and help us get the Elevator back for us to ski it once again...

Thanks!!

too steep to groom? wow, and i'm going to assume its too steep to groom without a winch cat which they probably dont have, but still. thats pretty good for the poconos.

you guys should be pissed. small mountains tend to forget that all ability levels will ski there given something worth while. good luck getting it back.

What was the reason for taking it off the map?

A few years back they took a lot of stuff of the map (mostly glades. but also the Elevator) which was fine IMO because they still have the ski anywhere that isn't roped off policy. They even take the chipper into the trees over the summer to clear out the brush to allow for decent glade skiing. What would be nice is if they took the chipper over to the Elevator to clear off some of that to make for some challenging terrain when conditions allow. Now all that's left is a line, maybe a foot or two wide amongst a forest of thorn bushes.

I did some searching and it looks like it's 35-40 degrees pitch... it's basically a narrow chute...
