Don't you mean W4th street? ;) Alas...the last place I gazed into Trailboss' eyes on his trip to NYC...West 4th and Carmine... A crazy panhandler dancing in TB's face. Priceless!

Hey, I'm just slightly aware of the area, not intimately familiar with it :) That sounds like it was a priceless scene, still waiting for a TR from TB.

I am guessing other is for terms like "tonic" which sounds too "I use big words" for me.

One of my favorite sections of the city...although I prefer the East Village over the West. I've given up on TB's TR at this point.

I may head into the West Village for the parade on the 31st. It's always a good time...If not I can always watch it on NY1.

unless "Gin" is used in the same sentence. ...but as I've said before, I'm extremely allergic to Gin. Every time I drink it I break out in handcuffs.

The only thing on there that makes sense in the whole southeast is Coke afterall their headquarters is in Atlanta, Ga.

I don't know.... using it as a generic though? Do you ask for a Coke when you really want a Sprite? How do you tell the difference?

I'll have your best syrup mixed with your finest carbonated water and carbonic acid.

Thanks.

When I moved from Minnesota to New York I called soda pop for awhile but soon realized that nobody knows what I am talking about. Shoes are another one...in the midwest we call sneakers tennis shoes.

ahem...I know you lived in NYC, Doug...please don't forget your roots, it's called a hero.

Right... Hero... I think there's another one I can't think of...

I've always called it a sub.. I think it's from when I was a kid growing up in Freehold NJ for a few years... There were "sub shops" all over the place...

Where I grew up, any brown soda was a coke, any clear soda was a sprite, and any fruit-flavored soda was a nehi.
Except RC. If you wanted an RC Cola, you asked for an RC. And a Moonpie. That's good eating.

We had a thread like this a year or two back. One thing I learned is that none of you call your driveway a "dooryard" like I do. Maybe (TB/Riv) that is a NEK thing? Soda and Sub to go please.
