I've always called it a sub.. I think it's from when I was a kid growing up in Freehold NJ for a few years... There were "sub shops" all over the place...

Ummm heres a few more, Bomber, Zep, Torpedo, Spuckie, or just a grinder i guess.

We had a thread like this a year or two back. One thing I learned is that none of you call your driveway a "dooryard" like I do. Maybe (TB/Riv) that is a NEK thing? Soda and Sub to go please.

I remember a similar discussion, but I've been unable to find it...

Ha! I did a search for "dooryard" and found it in the hiking thread in a post from 1/04 about a missing hiker and it was someone else using the term, not me! I THINK it was MtnMagic from Lancaster NH which sort of supports my NEK theory. Sorta.

yup...if ya move out west and you want people to know your an "eastern flatlander" ya ask for a soda. If your at the bar it's a draw, not a draft and those females are gals not girls and if your outside it's a creek not a brook.
