Wow, what a day. Conditions started with a couple of inches of wet snow when we left around 10am, by 2pm there were 12-16 inches of fluffy snow. The day started on the sticky side but then got colder and the snow got fluffier. It was dumping all day and still is coming down as hard as ever. 3-4 inches per hour snowfall droped a foot in 3 hours. The riding got better and better and kept on getting deeper and deeper. This was one of those days that you wished they kept spinning the lifts for another hour or two, it was that good. Not too many people on the mountain but decent turn out. Just to give you an idea, around noon we decided to hit throbulator on the east side of the mountain. As we enter we noticed we were first tracks! I could not believe it, but that is Burke for you on a powder day. Fresh tracks on every turn and all day long. Its still snowing very hard, and at least one more inch on the ground since our last chair run. Tomorrow pond skimming should be interesting...

I wish I had the stamina to take a picture of my deck and post it but im shot sorry. This was one of the largest storms of the season, phenomenal day. Still tons of snow on the mountain and since it has been snowing hard since last chair, tracks should be covered nicely. At this rate we are first chairing in the morning without a doubt.

That report was from 7:00 this morning. About 20 minutes after the first flakes fell. It has been snowing hard here in ST Johnsbury with about 5-6 inches on the ground. I could easily see doubling that at the Mtn.

woops. sorry about that. I guess I was just jealous.
I didn't even notice that it was from 7:00 :dunce:

7-8" (measured with a yard stick) at my house 5 miles from the mtn and 250 lower than the base lodge. The 7-8 is only on surfaces that still had old snow on them. Bare surfaces were only 4-5".

Burke Facebook just sent pic with update of 12-14 I skied today and that number seems low to me today was the second best day of the year IMO

The morning was absolutely awsome this morning. Got first tracks on the upper portion of the Wet Slot and got some of the best turns I've had all year. :highfive: The sun came out around noon and stiffened the snow up a lot. It was fine since I was off to pond skim anyway. Beautiful day on the mtn.
