I have an idea for a prank I want to pull on the snowboarders in our ski and snowboard club at the school where I teach. I was watching TV for the first time in a while last night and saw this program advertised. It's a program where jokes and spoofs are played on kids.

Each year we take a trip to Okemo and Mt. Snow, this year we are also planning a multi-day trip to Sunday River. Here is my plan, if I can get anyone to go along with it: After the long bus ride that we have to get to the areas mentioned, I'd like to have someone from the area, or at least someone who looks official, board the bus and ask if we have any snowboarders on the bus. After the kids raise their hands, I want this person to tell them that the mountain has changed it's policy and snowboards are no longer allowed as of that day. I would like the person to tell them that since they made the trip, the mountain would offer them ski rentals and a lesson at half price. I'd love to get the reaction of the little buggers on tape.

Really funny... NOT...

The reaction from this "little bugger" would not be pretty....

See - the passive agressiveness from this board??

No, actually, I love these kids, they are great! I would not chaperone and organize the trips if I didn't love them. You got to know these kids to see the humor in this I guess. Boarders do not bother me at all.

I just saw this program advertised and thought this would be neat to do. The gag on the ad has a kid choosing and buying candy from a vending machine and deodorant drops out. (the parents set these gags up.)

You could always tell the skiers that they've been banned. That might get a bigger reaction. Not from dmc, of course ( ;) ), but from the kids it will get at least a moment of confusion.

Heck, just go all the way and tell them that bigfoot is going to eat them all for lunch  .

You know, the Japanese make the best prank shows around. Sick stuff. On one I saw, these guys dressed up as terrorists complete with automatic rifles loaded with blanks. Then they quietly broke into this big company executive's house and surrounded him while he was in his bed sleeping.

He was "gently" awakened to the sound of sirens, flashing lights, and gunfire. The audience was howling with laughter!

I couldn't tell if the executive was laughing because he was on the floor in the fetal position grabbing his chest.

Oh yeah, the Japanese are crazy! Ever watch "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" on Spike TV? Aside from the hilarious voice overs, that show just makes me howl!

I think if this was done in a serious tone they would believe it. Most of the members are 7th and 8th grade though we do go to 12th grade. We leave the school quite early. Many sleep on the bus on the way. Most awake after the bus is in the lot, so they would only be half awake.

We only have a handful, if that, of skiers...mostly the chaperones and 1 or 2 kids, so switching it to skiers would not really work. If it would work, I could bring a handful of old safety straps to hand out, and watch them try to figure out how to attach them to the new bindings...that would be funny too. (the area I worked at has a box with a bunch of the old runaway straps...at least they did last year.)

Switching it to skierswould get a big hoot out of the boarders though (do kids still "hoot"? did they ever?) If you could get a 12th grader or two in on the joke it'll fly- all you need is one of them to confirm they saw a sign on teh way in or something.

As a SR regular, that Sounds like a good idea . . . banning boaders I mean. Just kidding boarders actually have progressed the sport of skiing. well at least the freeriding portion of skiing and they brought much more comfortable clothes to the sport.

In terms of the prank, I'm not sure the kids are that gullible (sp?).
