Weather: blue sky, some thin high clouds, nice sun, temps as shown by those so very accurate thermometers at the lift base about 40* F, little wind.

Conditions: good cover everywhere but really hard surface. No ice and quite edgable. Sort of loose - granular as they say. Where groomed, it was pretty OK for fast cruising with good deal of confidence that if you dug your edges in, they would carry you in desired direction.

Natural snow trails/ungroomed slopes (Birches, Sweepstakes, Raegge Glades) were a bit harsh - really hard packed cover that was edgable but not all that much fun. The cover felt like it was rained on a bit and then it froze. Some fun, gentle moguls on natural snow trails.
Given that these trails did not ski all that well, I did not bother with the glades.
We started skiing at noon, so I was hoping that the sun and warmer temps would soften up the surface - no such luck.

I am going back on Sunday, since it will be even warmer than on Ffriday. I hope that the surface will soften up. Still, I had a great time just cranking out some high speed turns since for the most part I had the slopes almost always just to myself. Ahh, the joys of mid- week ski day.

I bet tomorrow will be great. Provided it doesn't get too cold tonight, I imagine it will be even better than today.

Stick to Tree Hugger and Triple Take glades early, They'll soften first.
