going in a couple weeks. first time there in particular and BC in general. havent been out west at all in 4 years.
any helpful hints.
It's an interesting place for sure. I was only there one day on a big loop trip. Got there a good 1/2 hour before the lifts opened and was shocked to see how many cars were in the parking lot. Not at all what I was expecting. It's was a mid-level powder day, so that may or may not be the norm. Anyway, the place wasn't really crowded, just not empty like I expected. Once on the mountain I noticed there were people hiking for turns all over the place, even before it was necessary. So if you're into lift assisted hiking this is a good a place for you. We had an interesting day on the backside. It's a lot of fun back there. The lift was broken for most of the day but they run a shuttle bus when it is. That might have been a blessing in disguise since there weren't many people back there, got fresh turns all day. The town of Nelson is also really nice, great vibe. Splurged for a nicer hotel right in the center of town, it was still a real bargain thanks to the ski and stay deal. Looks like the changed the name and renovated...

At any rate, it sounds like you've made a great choice to me. I think you'll love it. Are you just going to Whitewater or are you hitting some other places?
2 days at whitewater, 3 days cat skiing then 1 more day at whitewater.
Very nice, that should make me and everybody else jealous. Looks like they've been getting some good snow so far.
not so much snow. hoping things turn around next week.
Interestingly enough, whitewater was the only Canadian ski area represented at the Denver ski expo (hosted by the same group as the boston ski expo)
Just wondering, what made you chose whitewater? I know very little about it but seeing as there are a myriad of ski options in BC I'd like to know what made it stand out.
im going with a bunch of guys, some of whom have done this before.
