It is that time of year, Sugarloaf Reggae Fest !!!

It's a spring time right of passage. Live Music from Thursday night April 15th til Sunday afternoon, on the 18th. Don't miss the spring skiing or the line-up of great bands featuring Israel Vibration & Roots Radics.

Also the best snow in the east.

For more info go to:

See you there!

Roots Radics are an excellent band. In the late '70s and early '80s, they were THE session band who backed singers like Yellowman, Barrington Levy, Eek-a-Mouse, Wailing Souls, Frankie Paul, Cocoa Tea, Johnny Osbourne, Michael Prophet, Hugh Mundell, and Don Carlos. With the late Henry "Junjo" Lawes as producer and Scientist as mixing engineer, they created the first wave of what was called "dancehall." Although core members like drummer Lincoln "Style" Scott are no longer with the group, friends have told me that they're still awesome.

I'm less of an Israel Vibration fan (a little boring for me) but with the Radics they're supposed to be good.

Greg, looks like you are going to luck out and have some fantastic skiing conditions for your trip. I am so happy for you. I didn't post a trip report for my weekend at the River for the Parrot Fest. I was great, but the conditions were tough. Mash taters! Still some snow left and we skied both days. Looks like I am probably done for the year. Lots of work at home going on to sell the house. Have fun everyone! Wish I were going!

Thanks skican! I'm keeping a close eye on this page:

The weather this week looks great for at least supporting the snow they have left. They're still at 78% open. Probably no snowfields, but I hope to wrap up this season with a great trip. This is a guys-only outing so we should be able to get in a lot of skiing. I plan to take tons of pics!

BTW, Charlie Schuessler is the man! 8)

Man do I miss the Sugarloaf Reggae Fest my last visit to the Loaf was way back in 97 and it was for the fest. I would look so forward to the Reggae fest each year. I 'de love to get back their for the reggae fest but currently wife n kids are kind of prohibiting that from happening  At any rate, Greg i'm jealous that your heading up with the boys sounds like the ultimate weeekend to finish off the season. Great skiing, music, partying  vibe, and of course eye candy :D enjoy

I saw this report on (gasp) another Web site:

Sugarloaf ME 4/09 - 4/11 2004 (Someone needs to tell Kevin post here too ;) )

Anyway, based on that report, conditions look like they're holding up great! Any others in the know?

4 days and counting...
