With the possible exception of 95-96, I can not recall a spring that produced snow much good snow and skiing. I remember Bromley closing on the 15th of April with about a 4 ft base. Killington had so much open on this date that year. Escapade was awesome.
Sorry people, just remeniscing.

Very well. In mid-March, Rt 17 over the Lincoln Gap on the way to MRG and SB had snow banks taller than cars. It was incredible. MRG had no bare spots. The Paradise waterfall basically didn't exist since there was so much snow. Whiteface the day after was oustanding, and it was my only time in the Slides. Skied Gore the next day and what was later to become Double Barrell was open, and it was possibly the most fun I ever had at gore. A couple weeks later (end of March or beginning of April), I went to Gore and there was still a lot of snow. I really, really, really miss that winter!

i skied four times that season. it was the last time i would allow a woman to get in the way of my skiing. it was also before i was completely consumed but the activity. so i missed out and have no idea what everyone always talks about. it was just another year to me back then.

My best memory of that season was a 3 day weekend in mid April at Smuggs. Fri. night they got 18 inches on top of a crazy high base. Back bowls where great. You just had to be careful of hitting your hesd on branchs because the snow was so deep your head was in the canopy.:-D

It wasn't just the spring of 2000-2001, my friend, it was the entire season that rocked! Was an ASC passholder skiing at SB, K-Mart, and Pico. Everything was open and good! The lift shack at the Summit Quad was completely BURIED in Late March from all the snow! One guy said he had not seen that much snow in 30 years! At one point, it was snowing EVERY DAY. And the March 2001 Nor'Easter dumped a solid 36 inches in VT. We didn't get a dump above 6 inches up here ALL WINTER this season. Maybe this will come back....the last time I was an ASC Passholder was that great 2000-2001 season...and it is imminent that I will be one this season....buckle your seat belts. :D

That was the year before I went to college. Unfortunately I lived in RI at the time and only got to ski 8-9 times. Having parents that don't ski and being 4 hours from the mountain plus playing hockey 6 days a week is not conducive to skiing a lot. The following year I was in college and the obsession began.

That was a great one.

I have fond memories of '97. 100" of snow on the rockpile in May alone. 16 trips to Tuckerman and GoS and packed up the skis on July 15th.

I was a junior in high school and competing on a national level in swimming. Only rode twice that year at the incredible mt. known as Blue Hills that was near my prep school (Milton Academy).

I too had the same problem in 03-04 and 04-05. Would never let it happen again now!
