I got my "Giants Stadium sale" flyer from Princeton Ski shops and they list 07 Rossignol B1 Bandit for $200. I'm considering these skis, but I need more information, reviews please.

I skied the Bandit B1s about three years ago. The 2007s may be a lot different than the one's I skied in December 2004. I liked them well enough but not anything I'd purchase (but that's just me). It's mostly a carving ski. I also skied the B2 & found that to be much damper (too dead for my liking). The B1 seemed more lively to me.

If you're looking for a medium waisted carving ski, it's a good buy for only $200.

I also demoed the B1's about 3 or 4 years ago, and also found them to be very good carvers.

IIRC, the b1 from 3-4 yrs ago is a different ski than the 2006 model, it was toned down for an intermediate ski, not sure about the 2007. I demo the 2004, nice ski and would have bought it if I could get a good price on it.

Is it the new B1 that is considered one of the best bump skis out there (aside from actual bump skis of course) or the older model?

The B1 on sale is from last year, 2006-2007

B1 older model has 109/70/99 dimension, the newer model has 114/74/104.

I've heard that skiers like the older b1 in the bump b/c of the softer flex. When I demoed it, I couldn't find a bump field. But in general, I also like a softer flex, I have a k2 axis x and volkl g3, they basically have the same dimension but I can feel the difference in terms of flex. The k2 is what I like to ski with in the bumps.

In terms of the new b1, never tried it but it seems to follow the present trend of going wider.

I have the older B1s and they are great. I am 5'8'' and about 185 and I am riding 170s. I am usually in the bumps and the trees and the skis excel. They are also great carvers.

Can anyone comment on how the B1's compare to the B2's? I have 2-year-old B2's, love 'em to death, but am curious what the performance differences are with the B1's...
