Second year in a row my family did NH school vacation week at Saddleback. Both have been stellar.
No question if I lived an hour closer, Saddleback would be my home mountain of choice over all others in New England. Just the finest pound for pound collection of great old school New England terrain. Best I can describe it to those who have never been there is picture Castle rock at SB, only three of them side by side. Mix in a half dozen or so great fall line cruisers and then fill in the rest with killer tree skiing.
It's a haul for many to get here
for certain, but it is so absolutely worth it. That much terrain with so few skiers in such a cold environment makes for just great surfaces. If the snow is bad here, it's very likely it's not much better elsewhere in New England.
