Dates Skied: March 10 through March 13

Resort or Ski Area: Saddleback Mountain - Rangeley, Maine

Conditions:
Day 1: Cloudy and snowing 1-2" with temps in the teens. Most trails were groomed after the freezing rain 2 days earlier. Packed powder and loose granular.
Day 2: Clear and sunny with temps in the 20s. Packed powder.
Day 3: Cloudy and snowing 1" with temps in the 20s. Packed powder.
Day 4: Clear and sunny with temps in the 20s. Packed powder.

Trip Report:
Thanks to everyone who suggested Saddleback. It was nice and quiet and barely anyone there during the week. We had a slopeside condo and could ski out our backdoor.

Day 1:
We arrived and skied a half day. We started off with all the green trails off the southbranch quad and Hudson Highway off the rangeley double chair. Hudson Highway was a long and easy cruising trail that we liked and skied several times per day.

Day 2:
Day 2 we skied all but 3 of the blue trails which were ungroomed. We tried out the lower T-bar for the first time and took The Pass across to the Kennabago T-bar and went up to the top. We took Tri-color down which is actually a green/maybe blue trail not black diamond as it says on the trail map. We wanted to take America but it had bad cover and no grooming. It will have snowmaking next year making it a green trail so we're looking forward to it. Our favorites were Lower Tightline and the following run: Jitterbug to Sneaky Pete to Gray Ghost, across Doodlebug to Royal Coachman and back across to Muddler.

A cool icicle I found. There were a lot of ice covered trees from the freezing rain:

Day 3:
Didn't take many pictures on day 3.

Day 4:
Our last day I decided to use my GPS. We skied a total of 10 runs and 27.1 miles. Probably about 4 miles were from the chairlifts. Total time was 3.75 hours at 7.3 mph. The lifts moved at around 5 mph so our average skiing speed was probably around 10-15 mph. Max speed was reached on Sneaky Pete at 29.5 mph.

We tried the middle part of Golden Smelt, a black diamond with moguls which I didn't have much fun on. Lower Tightline was one of my favorite trails that we skied ungroomed on day 2. It was listed as groomed today so we went to it again but unfortanately it was still ungroomed. It was ice with 2" of powder so it wasn't too bad, still one of my favorites.
