Resort or Ski Area: Saddleback

Conditions: Powder / Packed Powder

Trip Report: It just keeps coming on for Saddleback. Another very good day. Was not quite as good as last Wednesday but it was stellar none the less.

BIG NEWS OF THE DAY - The better half is back on skis! After a 6 month rehab from ACL surgery - she took to the slopes. Slow and easy but she was able to tackle blues of the Rangeley. Great job by her doing her PT program. I know Edd ripped his ACL recently - speedy recovery Edd and you will be back like my wife!

The woods were still very good but a bit more skied out... still excellent cover and things are setting up nicely for a mid-week snow pukage. Governor and Wardens Worry probably had the best snow on the mountain if you could get around the headwalls.

Groomers off the Rangeley skied fantastic. Tight Line and Supervisor got a bit skied off up top but still very good.

Not much of a crowd. All lifts were pretty much ski on all day. Temps in the teens to twenties. Light wind till the end of the day when it got a bit colder. Could not ask for much better for a Saddleback January day.

Peachy's Peril skied very well and a nice view as always

Great pictures!

I checked out Saddleback for the first time on Saturday -- the glades were all great, we spent most of our day exploring every glade we could find... Family secret had some fun bumps for carving around, and wow, grey ghost is a pretty wide cruiser!

Black Beauty's top was pretty exposed, and I think it scared a lot of people away... The bottom half of it was fantastic though, found plenty of fresh snow... Muleskinner and Casablanca, both a ton of fun.

Today, I took a run in Brackett over at the Loaf -- Saddleback glades are in much better shape coverage-wise.

As always, great write-up Sal. That pic of Boy 1 is killer! Peachey's looks like it is in the best shape of the season. I am headed up on Sunday for Maine day and can't wait!!

That is my favorite part of Black Beauty....after you make 3 or 4 dicey turns, you are golden. I bet mid trail was unreal.

From everything I have heard, you are 100% about Casa vs. BB.
