Warm and sunny today. Day off. Went back to Saxon Hill in Jericho. We rode some unmarked stuff off the top of Mojo. It added a solid 30+ minutes of good singletrack...less traveled, unraked tight and technical singletrack with some hard climbs, but nothing undoable. Love it. Great ride. In short, this place is tons of fun, generally high speed, buffed singletrack riding with just the right amount of technical features. If you are near Bulington, and have a bike, go and you will have a blast. December 2. Shorts, T shirt, Sweating, riding sweet trail with glimpses of snow covered Mtns. Life is but a dream.

I absolutely loved it there last time I rode it. So much fun. I can't wait to get back and do more. Glad you got to get out today!

JD- you've found the good stuff! :) there's a lot more back there than you think, we've been riding that since 93. Good area, a friend owns the land and only clears blow-downs, almost never rakes it out. We used to train over there back in high school for our "race team" and just buzz those trails lap after lap. It's kinda nice most folks stay on the Essex side (FOTW maintained) and don't even know about the goods :)

At one point we saw a sign that said Blue Nail? We felt we were gonna drop out in someone's yard and just kept making rights...a cople times we could have continued straight but didn't want to end up on the road....found a loop, rode it..continued along the road bed after, then went in on the right and climbed up and intersected the climb to Mojo. Is that how you would loop it? Is this how you would connect over to Mobbs? Is it legal? Much more out there?

That was Blue Hill/ Blue Trail. That pretty much goes straight up a hill from the "lower section" of the private land. The "No Trespassing" sign up on top (if its still there) is to keep ATV's out, it was put up by the mountainbiking landowner to preserve the MTB trails a little better.

Only yard you'll come out in is the landowners, he's cool though.

No connection to Mobbs, you have to cross a few roads and some "not-so legal" trails to get there, as its a few miles away, but I haven't done that for years.

There are a few nice loops at the bottom of the Blue Trail, may be hard to find this time of year though. I'll have to give you a tour next time i'm up that way (after ski season!)
