In '79 when I moved to Sugarbush, my friend Little Pete had three passes on a chain hanging in his living room. .

Must have been the Volkstown living room. The "Little Dog" is still "Little". You are either "Hicky" or "Comandor Puff". My guess is "Hicky". But, "Bud".

nope. i debated getting the bronze asc pass this year but that, to rivers point, would force me to ski killington and Mt Snow to justify the cost. I dont anticipate getting out enough this year to recoup the cost of the pass and still get to the other areas i enjoy skiing. I dont want to be forced to ski either of those areas just to feel like i am getting my moneys worth. In a few years, when the kids are a little older and i can split for a day or two more readily, i'll get a bronze. assuming they are still offered. The only pass i ever had was to Pico and it was dirt cheap with no restrictions. $250 for the whole season, pre asc obviously.

I just bit the bullet and bought two Bronze passes for my son and I. I anticipate lots of skiing at Mount Snow since it will be a little over 100 miles from our house, which would make several day trips a year easy to do. We also expect to ski at Sugarloaf at least 4-8 days next season and at Killington 3-4 times.

I would like to get a Sundown pass, but they are a little too expensive for me, though I might get one for my son.

Despite my busy schedule I also have three passes, and am possibly getting a fourth. I have a Burke Pass, ASC All East College pass, and I will be getting a Sunapee/Okemo/Crested Butte Employee pass just for working there. I tend to ski enough at some of these places to pay for the price of the pass. I ski at Burke between classes when I'm here at LSC, I ski on any days off that I may have at Sunapee or Okemo, and I have the ASC pass for everything else. I usually only get about 6-8 days of skiing in at an ASC resort, but the $400 pass is a great deal and it really does pay for itself in that many, if not less visits. I also try to support as many small ski areas that I can for which I always try to buy a full price one day ticket. Yes, I pay more, but I'm supporting the smaller ski areas that I love and would like to prosper.

Stowe sure does....and when you can't find a job in town paying more then 12 bucks an hour with a culinary degree....the price tag is no small point of consideration....such is the compromise. But hey, lifts are for kids....

thinking about getting the gore/whiteface pass, at the college price it is hard to pass up. its around a 5/6 hour drive but i make it up there enough to justify buying the pass. Second option is a summit county pass, either the breck/keystone/abasin or copper/winterpark. i figure to spend about a month out there this winter with a free place to stay.

I always wanted a pass when I was younger, but never went to 1 mountain enough to make it worth while. Now, I use the percs of the job to ski for free.
