found this. i cant belive i used to do that boot pack its so much easier to skin from the quad. splitboards are cool

you honestly think so?

I used to do that boot pack in about 45 minutes. Hard work? yes. Do I think I could've gotten to the chin skinning from the quad quicker? no

...but, I never have even attempted touring/skinning. I used to boot it up from the quad all the time though to drop some of the lines in the middle of the kitchen wall, which were great. One of them we used to call the triangle trail.....not sure if that drop has the same name now. That was one of my favorite shots on Mansfield.

....oops, guess I'm sharing a stash online

truth be told, I never was told about that line. I discovered it for myself with my friend Jeff in 1995. We knew the traverse across the ridge existed from hiking up there the summer prior and just decided to go and see what we found the following winter.

We hit that and multiple other shots up there that and pursuing season. Many of those lines were picture documented in powderfreaks trip reports this winter.......hmmm, I have a queston for that other thread

there are some fun lines on the traverse. i prefer to stay on the top of the snow not posthole. the skin is far easier. funny thing is we nver used names for lines. it was alway "you know right by that rock that we sat at in summer" or "between point a and point b" . that cliff on the left on the boot pack is where we pushed jim rippey off and he landed o the face about halfway down. i love the tree change as you ride down its like three seperate area's. i want to ride!

This is just a pic I found on the net, but it's one of my favorites. I think it's Sunshine BC.

Note that the tracks in the background are probably 600-700' below the choke in the foreground.
