Trip Report: Very nice day at Shawnee. The boyz had no school today (teacher workshop) so I took the day off and we day tripped it to Shawnee. They advertised they had resurfaced a bunch of trails with snowmaking and I have to say they did a very nice job. Any groomed trail had really nice cover and in the afternoon the sides of the trails had some nice loose snow to play in. No thin spots on the groomed anywhere. They are going to need a good dump to get the woods and natural trials open.
It was one of those super-fast rip the groomers day. If I had to choose it is not my favorite type of day... Now that I have turned 40 going a gazillion miles and hour is no longer on my fav list. I certainly am turning into a woods & powder hound. But we still had a great time and it sure beats the daily grind!
One pic - Nice view down Jack Spratt from the summit.
