Date(s) Skied: 12/23/03 (night skiing)
Ski Area: Ski Sundown, Winsted, CT
Conditions: Warm evening, excellent snow coverage
Trip Report: I decided to ski since I was in Hartford yesterday. It took forever to get there due to either rush hour traffic on Rt 44 or Christmas shopping or a combination of the two. It took 1 hour and 10 minutes which should have taken only about 40 minutes. It was a warm night and one of the summit triple chairs was open. I loved it, no crowds! The trails that I skied last night were Tom's Treat, Noreaster, Temptor, Stinger, Panhandler, Canyon Run, Exhibition. The triple moves fast which made many runs possible. I have always liked Ski Sundown. It is not a big mountain but it has a Vermont feel to it. The two diamonds that were open, Temptor and Stinger have a decent pitch and kind of twisty, a very Vermont feel to it.
I figured I better ski before the rain comes!
