Location: Ski Sundown, New Hartord, CT

Conditions: Bluebird, firm but not icy, low 20s, moderate wind

Trip Report: Quick hitter today. I bumped into very few people on the trails today. Didn't encounter any ice on the groomers, just firm edgable snow. I was on the lift by 1:45. I cranked out 10 runs on Canyon Run in 1 hr and 15 min. I was focusing on a tight stance and keeping my shoulders square to the fall-line. No huge breakthroughs today but it was a great chance to work on some drills I put off because I'm usually in the bumps. I started to feel some fatigue in my inner thighs. I think this was a result of keeping my stance tighter.

I wrapped up with 2 runs on Temptor. Bumps were very firm today. I did encounter some icy troughs in the flatter sections of bumps. That flat weird spot inbetween sections of bumps was really scratchy. I stuck to the line skiers right since it seemed to have soaked up the most sun by that point in the day. With the low temps temp last night and today they didn't softened up much at all. I had to get back and run a conditioning session for the lax team so I opted to get home and hang with the family instead of hammering my back and knees in those firm bumps.

Happy to hear you got out and made some progress on your own. I think I need a few of those days myself.

Were you squeezing that $20? ;)

Congrats on getting out for some runs today!

Money is tight this month. I had to use a $5. ;-)

As much as I love skiing with ya'll, its nice to go solo and do those drills on Canyon and not feel like you are missing out on the bumps.

Nice job, Chris. Spending some times in the flats working on things will help all over the mountain.

Agreed. You're a better man than I Chris, I can never seem to get the motivation to do drills..
