Resort or Ski Area: Ski Sundown

Conditions: Spring

Trip Report:

Overcast when I arrived at Noon, sunny after about 1pm. Bumps were soft on top, icy in the troughs when I started, but once the sun hit them they softened up all around. One warm-up run then spent the next 2/12 hours on Gunbarrel practicing in the bumps. I thought the bumps in the section between the kickers were spaced strangely, but it's most likely my inexperience.

I think I got in Greg's way at one point. I saw the gang at the top of the hill, so thought I was safe to move in and pick my line below the second set of kickers. Next thing I knew, I heard someone coming but didn't have enough time to back out. So, whoever that was, I'm sorry, it looked like you were having a great run.

Also, found someone's inhaler, turned it in, so I hope you got it back.

Bittersweet day. Lots of fun, but I think it was my last day of my season.

I had a blast today. Kickers are awesome and the lines before the first kicker are tight. After that it gets interesting with no line skiers right below 2nd kicker. More holes showing up but I have faith. Got a short vid of greg and b I will put up later

Em, what were you wearing. Saw a few other people in the bumps but not many. One guy threw a couple of mute grab heli's.

how are the landings? Flat (like last year) or have some pitch?
They're pretty similar to last year, but the bottom jumps have a much bigger gap between the jump and the landing, so one should be able to go bigger without overshooting the landing.

There's two sets of jumps at the bottom, I'd been hitting the ladies tee, but on my second to last run I decided to hit the big jump. I hit it WAY too slow, as I was going up the ramp I started to wonder if I had enough speed to even make it to the top, let alone get any air. Needless to say I came up way short, that landing kind hurt.

I'm just getting into bump skiing so I stayed in the low angle bumps toward the bottom. No jumps for me. I was wearing black pants and a green jacket, grey helmet.
