I think only 2 women's races of all of the races were on regular TV. NBC had one I believe and CNBC had the other which actually has more winter sports then regular NBC. Great way to market the sport and to grow ALL WINTER SPORTS especially with the Winter Olympics coming up in a few months. Sure they had all the races on SkiandSnowboarding.live and peacock and a 3rd OUTSIDETV all streaming and each almost a $100 a year.

Cant even get the AIRTIME on a regular channel or get a replay space late at night on regular TV or CABLE TV. Are late night infomercials paying more then then regular commercials earn to get the space??

I’ve never found d ski racing a particularly great watch honestly. It’s hard to grasp the conditions or the terrain (as it should be skied) so it’s just sort of oh that person went faster, cool I guess.

I loved watching it 50 years ago. The coverage and announcing was great. They never missed a race.

I thought about it, and alpine skiing is the only sport I can think of where the televised accessibility has actually decreased rather than increased in my lifetime. I can see all my tiny D1 college's baseball, soccer, or even women's volleyball games streamed live, yet have no reasonably affordable access to professional ski racing. It's bizarre.

You'd think FIS could make some sort of beneficial deal with ESPN+ for North American live streaming rights, but apparently not. You would need to have Outside at like $90 per year, but also Peacock Premium for another ~$100.

It's also not on one streaming service.

If US Ski and Snowboard Live had full coverage of every race, with good commentary and easy access across devices, that would be okay (but admittedly I still wouldn't pay for it, as I don't have enough time to hang out in front of the TV in the winter to justify). But no, you need multiple streaming services and even understanding which events will be on which services requires a decent bit of research (and races that air live on peacock may or may not be available for later replay, which is a crap user experience in a world where most content is added to the library after airing).

The idea that broadcast or even cable coverage matters is antiquated, but the inconsistent access is a piss-poor fan experience, nevermind for potential fans who don't know what they're missing.

If you have Peacock streaming they show most of the races but at 4:00AM :-( (I'm not getting up that early). Very few of the races are available to watch later as replays.I think Stiffel sponsors them. Maybe I'll waste my time writing to them and suggest that they sponsor more replays.

Ya it’s frustrating for sure. Here's a breakdown. Peacock carries only races held in the USA and Austria (and the coming Olympics). Outside carries/carried a few events but not worth subscription in my opinion and not sure if they have rights for any more alpine races.

Skiandsnowboard carries the bulk of all the races in entirety (except for US and Austria) with full replay.. and you can subscribe to all winter sports or choose a single discipline like Alpine. The dude who is commentator on the women's Alpine races is an exciting color announcer too.

Ya it's all pay to play now..for most sports. It's a shame that Mikaela, Paula and Linsey are dominating for the USA and most are missing this.
