Celebrate your birthday in February.

I'd love too, but the wife has already booked us on a 2 week vacation in India (a good friend of ours is getting married there). We are thinking of flying into Boston, grabbing a rental car and getting to see a bit of the lovely scenery of New England for a week. Within that week we'd like to grab 2 or 3 days of skiing. All the places you guys/gals have mentioned are on my shortlist. The feeling I'm getting is to sort out the specific itinerary closer to the time.

Have you skied K-Mart since they were sold to POWDR and company???? No more early season skiing....Thanksgiving is their aim and if the weather is bad, they are not going to make the effort.

My comment about Mount Snow was that they are trying to extend the season, but yes, they are limited because of their location and weather.

Sounds like you haven't skied Killington since they were sold to POWDR. Thanksgiving should be the typical number of trails at Killington. They stopped October White Ribbon of Death. It's not like they don't run the snowmaking system 24x7 once it gets cold in November. POWDR chased away enough of their long-time customer base that Thanksgiving Saturday is no longer even the worst crowds you've ever seen in your life. I normally tell people to avoid Killington like the plague over the Thanksgiving holiday period since it's stupidly busy by 10:00 in the morning. Last year wasn't anywhere near as crowded. Still ugly but far better than I can remember in the last 20 years.
