Cuse Rock this year! not to date myself but used to live in Camillus and used to go see the Booie Louie show at Manley field house when I was in 2nd grade or so. Roosevelt Booie (sp) was awesome with that big Afro of his at the time made him look 7'5".

Alberto Tomba was amazing that he was able to carve the GS so powerfully with the old straight skis. He had such strong legs and generated incredible power.

What I don't get is that a number of these aren't even really "runs" but more like events or accomplishments or happenings (Spyder in the shower?)

The act of going down a trail is called a Run....what don't you get............?

a) In my book, the take-off ramp for ski jumping is not a "trail" and going down it does not make a "run" in the sense of the word that alpine skiers normally use. I'm sure you can argue that it is, but to me, it isn't one...thus, #1 on the list of "Most Memorable Runs" isn't even "a run".

b) #6 is an "Alpine Sweep," which is not "a run" either, but rather a series of runs. So to me it is out of place. If you wanted to extend the list to 14 instead of 12, and then put all 3 gold medal runs in as #s 6, 7 and 8, then fine.

c) #8 is blank, it seems, so it is also not a run.

d) #11 is about a skier getting shot in his shower. That is not a ski run.

Thus, to me, 4 of the top 12 Runs in skiing History aren't even runs, according to this list. It's like when they do a list of top plays in football or whatever sport...drives, quarters, whole games, stories about off the field incidents are not "football plays"...so it gets a little silly! just a casual comment.

e) You don't have to be a dick about it in your response................!

They forgot Bill Johnson's gold medal run in Sarajevo, 1984. He called it and Franz Klammer called him a 'Nasen Bohrer' (nose picker). Klammer came in 10th.

Ease up Dude,,,,I did not come here to be a dick,,,I posted a link to what I thought was an interesting list to create some potential interesting discussion about skiing's history on the eve of the Olympics.....of which your attacking me for,,,,, it is a list that I did not put together, but I thought was interesting,,,,,you don't have to over analyze everything in life....take it for what it is,,,, an interesting list,,,,if you don't like it read it and move one without being sarcastic and calling me a dick.

Ease up Dude,,,it's Friday,,,,,,,,I made a post of what I felt was interesting information. If you do not think it is interesting than, skip over it and move on. I did not come here to pick a fight which it appears you are interested in doing,,,,, and or argue over what I thought was an interesting post about skiing,,,,,,

Dude, I enjoyed the article, just found it confounding that a number of the "Runs" weren't actually runs, so I made an observation.

If anyone picked a fight it was you:

The act of going down a trail is called a Run....what don't you get............?

We are on a ski forum, everyone knows what a run is, give or take, so to me posting like that is nothing more than inflammatory.
