There's very little destination business so you don't get the off-mountain attractions found west of the Mississippi. That makes the ski towns marginal at best.

Lake Placid is a marginal ski town that lacks off-mountain attractions? It is the epicenter of outdoor activity for an entire region, year round.

Which issue had the Eastern top 10?

October 2005. Says "Top 50 Resorts The Ultimate Ski Vacation Planner"
Skiing or Ski?
I have the October 2005 Skiing Issue and it has a gear guide and stuff but no resorts...
November issue=25 Killer Trips and no mention of a single Eastern resort besides Jay Peak in an Article...

I ahve the 2002 Resort Guide thing from skiing it was great. It ranked resorts on steepness, snow, nightlife, and let you know how they ranked and they even had some good eastern stuff too for the top ten resorts...

Am I missing something?
Where are you guys getting Top Ten from SKIING Magazine???

Thanks!

Okay cool thanks...
:-? What gives??? No SKIING Top ten for the East this year. Looking back on 2003 Issue they gave resort profiles and everything for the Eastern Resorts that made the top ten... I don't even see a top ten list now...
 :-? :argue:
