Any one ever hear of skype before? according to their site you can talk to anyone else who has downloaded it for free. For $90 per year you can talk to people who don't have it and for $50 dollars you can buy a box that makes all the calls go right to your house phone. here is a link to the website let me know if anyone has any expierence with it.

We used skype, I got some weird calls. not real comfortable with the security. Seemed like a couple people from this board were tryign to get some personal info out of us. We have stopped using it.

I use it for when I'm traveling overseas. 2 cents a minute to call the US is a hell of a lot cheaper than an international cell phone plan. But that's about it.

We use it for work.. I contact my workmates in Sweden and China using it...
Don't post a phone # on it or you'll get wierd calls...

So you guys wouldn't reccomend converting your home phone system over to skype?

My aunt uses it ti talk to my cousin in London and apparently it works quite well. I didn't ask about security issues though

Better off with a standard VoIP service. I use lingo. Unlimited U.S., Canada, Mexico and Western Europe. My landline bill went down about 100 bucks a month because of it.
