Haven't backpacked or basecamped in some time, but when I do, it's a single ridgerest. I never sleep that soundly when in the backcountry and the slight discomfort is just something I accept.

Used a Therm-a-rest ProLite 3 on my 4 week trip to Washington. Very light, very small size when you get the stuff sack for it. Got a hole in it the third leg of the trip, fixed it with the Therm-a-rest repair kit effectively. Not the most comfortable, but crazy light and small.

I use an older version of this. I have had good results using it for about 2 years. It's small, compacts to about the size of a nalgene bottle, and fairly light, 17oz. The 2.5in thickness provide plenty of comfort for me.
