I was driving the other day, and passed a field of clover that smelled heavenly. It reminded me of when I was a little kid and use to catch bumble bees in a glass jar in the summer time in Florida. What smells take you back to your childhood?

Smells bring back vivid memories for me. Mostly there is a distinct smell that I can't describe, which caught from time to time that makes me feel Ahhhhhhh. It's a smell that I recall from times skiing at Stowe and Killington with friends a few years ago.

Sounds do it for me too.
This may sound stupid, but I ride my bike three mornings a week (weather permitting) with a girlfriend.
Its a ride that is hilly but not challenging, just enough to start the day off right.
On this ride there is a section of gravel road that takes me back to being a kid. The sound of gravel road under bike tires makes me feel like a kid again.

Alot of times when I'm in a cemetery installing tombstones and they're gnats in my eyes and my feet are wet from dew...it reminds me of camp..

The smell of feet, fries and urine of the main summit lodge at Blue mountain also brings back memorys..

Fall

crisp air, decomposing leaves, mums etc. For whatever reason, I remember the autumn season more than others from my childhood. Playing football with the neighborhood kids, Halloween and excitement for the first snow of the year.

I have a bottle of perfume that was my wife's. She wore it a lot when we were dating. Reminds me of good times and lots of sex.

Not a smell, but the sound of cicadas on hot summer days reminds me of being a kid and just being out playing all day in the summer.

Simple Green. My friend's dad used to swear by the stuff. He had gallons of it on hand at all times.

Everytime I smell that stuff it brings me back 20+ years to borrowing tools and working on my car in their barn.

Weird.
