Conditions: Groomed Packed Powder Throughout, Snow Storm

Didn't really go with the intention of doing a trip report but I get ready for my weekly friday ski day, left early for once and arrived at 0810. I got the first row end spot in lot one (the one all the way up) and it started snowing as soon as I opened my car door. By the time I got my boots on it was snowing heavily. I crossed the bus lane, put my skis on and got to Sterling lift to catch first chair, took a run and shot over to Madonna.

I found the entire mountain groomed for presidents week, including FIS. Just awesome packed base on my favorite trail. By my 2nd run on Madonna it was snowing so hard that the powder built up significantly. I got several runs each with fresh tracks until FIS turned into a wonderfully soft bump field, just the way I like it. I skied those moguls and the un-tracked lower trails till my legs just couldn't function any more.

I took a great cruise on that madonna blue then with my last bit of energy used black snake to get me to the T-Bar to go back to the car. I skied for 6 hours, non-stop except for one 5 minute cup of coffee. Short lines, vacationers staying away from the hard trails and locals staying home from the vacationers.

I got to the parking lot, looked down and skied right to my car, I had the door open before I took my skis off.

All in all, the best ski day I can remember....ever. Everything came together so perfectly and flawlessly. Sorry, no pictures, just memories.
