"Reeling on 101 West (NH) Dec 9, 2005"

The snow came down in sheets, the visibility was minimal. Like Ants following a sugar trail I stayed on the Walmart truck. My eyes were glued to the rigs rear headlights. Traveling a meager 35 miles per hour at best I wondered will this work out? It was 1:45pm and a virtual waterfall of snow was thrashing the entire highway network of Rockingham county (NH).

Through the Hookset tollbooth, up 93 I watch gleefully as the road have undertaken a marked improvement. The giant snowplows are covering 89 North. What's wrong with them? Don't they know there is a major catastrophe further SouthEast? Upon reaching exit 9 (Mt. Sunapee exit) eden! It wasn't but 3:30 pm and the Sun was breaking out on a clear line of demarcation What a freak storm.

Nor Easter (Cecelia) has wreaked ultimate havoc. You could see in the peoples eyes driving "They were scared" One woman having driven through the teeth of the storm had a death grip on her steering wheel. Down at the Cape where the eye of the storm hit people scurried about amongst the downed trees and broken powerlines.

Skiing at Sunapee was once again terrific. With my Spring Fling coupon I saved $15 off a $46 ticket and the next day brought in 5 high class Non-perishables you know Stone Coast Jelly, Grey Poupon mustard non of that creamed corn crap. Actually I raided someone elses cupboard for a 25 dollar day. Skyway had a stunning view of Non-frozen over lake Sunapee which looked kind of Blue.

(Daphne) looms over the shaken N.E. region for a Friday visit. Then (Emma) will slap the province for a pre-christmas thumping. (Francine) will then roar thru over Christmas.

Why can't i meet girls like this more often?

Not in Northern Vermont it doesn't. Things look absolutely great up here. Next week I'm going to hit MRG for the first time this season and then Bolton for their $4 tickets and then go to Mt. Ellen at Sugarbush for the first time this year. All three should have excellent conditions.

Daphne leaves her Yield for all those who claim!

Storm Daphne dropped 6 inches of excellent base snow very dense it looks like a banner year for Mt. Sunapee.

Mt. Sunapee offers some fine glade skiing. Outer Ridge a South facer was splendid in the March of 05. The Terrain truly opened up. Glades off cataract were supreme, a true delight. The tree skiing between Blastoff and Bonanza even had a little rock to jump off, of which I dubbed Chris's Rock. One can get a little off-piste skiing to the right of Goosebumps on the North peak. I prefer the Upper Ridge Glades. THe South facing slope brought memories of Wally World in Stmbt Sprgs.

It is necessary to arrive at 8:15 this is so to ski the gravy, couduroy. At two hours from Boston it allows for day tripping to be completed.

Apre-ski is availible. One can stay over at the Best Western nearby. The mountain does afternoon Apre-ski with various promotions. Miller Lite ski girls etc. One can also come across seasonal rentals as an option too. It's a great place for a ski club seasonal rental as well. It's proximity, relative quality of ski experience leads one to believe that Mt. Sunapee may be a central hot spot on the ski growth grid.
