I ran some errands in West Lebanon, NH this afternoon after I got off the hill and stopped at the Long Trail brewery on the way back. At 7:15 PM, it was raining at Killington's Skyeship base down on route 4. It was a mix at West Hill Road by Aspen East. At the stop light on the Access Road at the top of West Hill Road, it was winter. I'm near the top of the access road at 2000 feet. It's 32F and I have 2" on the ground so far. It's nice wet snow that should adhere to the sludge that is refreezing up on the hill. Hopefully, they keep the freakin' groomers off the hill until this all sets up completely.

As a side note, the Long Trail Brewery created another batch of Triple Bag. They're selling it in 22 oz bottles at $5.99 just like their Coffee Stout. Until I can get a designated driver, I'm not drinking it at the bar.

Thanks for the snow report and it's nice to hear it's snowing in the mountains. I just hope that's where it stays until spring comes as I have had enough of it at home.

It was snowing at Wachusett when I left tonight. The moguls were nice and soft though. Still no decent line.

I'll never have this train of thought. Austin posted in another thread about how he wants the Southern New England snow pack to go away so he can mountain bike.

The more snow I have in my yard in the flat lands almost always means the more snow there is in the mountains. New England isn't Denver or Salt Lake City where the ground can be bare and the mountains still get 300-400 inches.

From November 1st until May 1st, I want ALL of New England to get CRUSHED with snow. Chances are likely that if Boston gets 100 inches, the mountains will get 200-350. I have no scientific evidence to back it up, but I'd be willing to be that if Boston has a 50 inch season, the mountains will range from 100-250

Not true as I live fairly far south and the mountains can get snow while I get rain. I am tired of paying for plowing and it's nice to see grass again. We have two dogs and they trash the carpet /floor in our home by going out in the snow each winter.

March and April snow's in Northern New England are nearly always rain here. Sugarloaf got 107" of snow in April of 2007, we did not have a flake at home.

I honestly pray we never see snow in May where I live, no thanks.

No offense loafer, but move back to LI and take your anti-snow jinx with you...

It's bad enough when the non-skiers bitch about the snow around here, let alone the skiers...

I've got 16 days in so far at the local x-c ski center here in metrowest boston. conditions have been great. my rule of thumb is winter ends mid-March around here so I'm expecting/hoping to get out another dozen times at least. let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I agree, even though I live in NYC where it can snow 0" and the mountains still get 300". But when I see snow, I'm happy. The only time I don't want (a lot) of snow is when it will prevent me from getting where I am now to where I need to be to ski :)

Go Northern New England/New York. Hope you get buried. I'm looking forward to coming up and enjoying that snow pack in March. I merely watch the Pocono's, Catskills, Adaks, Greens and Whites. If it does other things here in N Jersey I don't care. While the Weather Channel may be pretty useless it does show radar in the mountains. Snowmaking is so good down here I'll take a little cold and defer the snow to our friends up north.
